JONNIE NOAKES AND DR IRO KONSTANTINOU

The Science of Learning Meets the Art of Teaching: Lessons from Eton College.

About this Keynote

In this joint talk, Jonnie Noakes and Dr Iro Konstantinou explore how we can make our teaching more evidence-informed. Jonnie notes how reflective practice can be put into action, and outlines Eton’s Teaching and Learning policy covering both academic and character facets. Dr Konstantinou then discusses a project on what teachers think makes great teaching. Risen from results were autonomy, passion for subject, experimentation and relationships, which Iro then explains the importance of. Jonnie concludes with a reminder of what teaching is not.
