Dr Iro Konstantinou and Jonnie Noakes first review key research on employability and encourages schools and colleges to integrate these principles into their curriculum. The discussion includes McKinsey's 2021 taxonomy, identifying 56 foundational skills needed for future workplace success, and highlights the 2023 study by the National Foundation for Education Research on the increasing demand for transferable employability skills by 2035. Finally, Dr Konstantinou suggests steps schools and colleges can take to better prepare students for the workforce and shares details about Eton’s comprehensive career education plan.
